Each Runner will carry 20lbs and a minimum of 2 will be on the road at any one time with all running a distance of at least a marathon per day.  The group will be joined by fellow veteran Royal Marines Commandos for local stages, supported by a team who will manage the transport, logistics and background administration.

The Bootnecks taking part have served across the globe on a full range of operational deployments and exercises, yet now as civilians have volunteered their time, energy and wellbeing of their joints (and sanity) to take  on this challenge.

The aim will be to raise a minimum of £500k for a range of charities, including Combat Stress, The Royal Marines Charity, Papyrus (Teen Suicide), Alzheimer's Society and Cancer Research.

All donors of money, resources, kit, nutrition, water, vehicles, goodwill and spare chocolate are extremely welcome!.
